Charlie Lynn was elected as a Liberal Member of the NSW Legislative Council in October 1995. Prior to his election he had served in the Australian Army for 21 years and later established his own adventure trekking company.
Charlie is inspired by a reference from author, Peter Brune, regarding Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Honner DSO MC; commander of the gallant 39th Militia Battalion at Isurava; former NSW State Liberal Director; and Australia's Ambassador to Ireland:
"Honner's) political philosophy embodied the belief that courage, hope, fortitude and endurance are all nutured by conviction. The strong and united community is supported by a continuity of a great tradition. He believed that it is not wealth and power and organisation that hold a society together but its Christian faith.'
